EMIS Frequently Asked Questions about Morbid Obesity

Q  How can I find out more information
AnswerWe are currently in the process of developing an Obesity Service in Exeter, hopefully running by early 2006. If you would like more information please email info@surgerybykeyhole.com
Q  How do I get referred for possible obesity surgery?
AnswerYour GP will need to refer you to an obesity centre. This is a specialist centre where the management of obese patients is performed using a multidisciplinary approach, with a physician, surgeon, clinical nurse specialist, dietician and psychologist forming the team. They will decide what the best individual treatment plan is, and if surgery is an option, this will be offered.
